Chocolate Cake Brownies
Directions
① Mix together in a saucepan:
½ Cup Shortening
1 Stick Margarine
3 Tablespoons Cocoa
1 Cup Water
② Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
③ Pour mixture over:
2 Cups Flour
2 Cups Sugar
½ teaspoon Soda
¼ teaspoon Salt
④ Add to Mixture:
2 Eggs (Beaten)
½ Cup Buttermilk
1 teaspoon Vanilla
⑤ Beat well.
⑥ Pour into large flat greased and floured pan.
⑦ Bake at 325° for 30 minutes.
⑧ Ice while hot.
Icing
① Mix together in a saucepan and bring to a boil:
5 Tablespoons Milk
3 Tablespoons Cocoa
1 Stick Margarine
1½ Cups Powdered Sugar
② Remove from heat and add: 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1 more cup powdered sugar, and ⅔ cup chopped pecans (optional).
